I liked this picture in the exhibit titled “First Dogs: American Presidents and Their Pets.” Not sure what it had to do with First Amendment rights, but it was an interesting display in any case.
“Lyndon B. Johnson’s favorite pet was a mutt that his youngest daughter, Luci, found abandoned at a Texas gas station on Thanksgiving Day in 1966. Johnson loved to howl with Yuki, named after the Japanese word for snow. In this 1968 photo, grandson Patrick Lyndon Nugent watches in wonder.”
