Calvin Coolidge and Prudence Prim

I liked this picture in the exhibit titled “First Dogs: American Presidents and Their Pets.” Not sure what it had to do with First Amendment rights, but it was an interesting display in any case.

“Calvin and Grace Coolidge maintained a menagerie during his 1920s presidency, including 12 dogs and a pair of raccoons. Here, white collie Prudence Prim shows off her Easter bonnet for Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon, standing between the first couple.”
