A place for entertaining

While walking around Old Diriyah one day, we came across a very unusual gate (pictured below) and were trying to look in when a man came out and invited us inside. It seemed to be some kind of place for social gatherings, and preparations were under way for a party that night. This was the main building on the premises, with a room for men to gather and visit.

The unusual gate that sparked curiosity, posted earlier:
