The Museum of Islamic Art, set on its own man-made island, was designed by IM Pei and holds the largest collection of Islamic art in the world, gathered from three continents. Not surprisingly, it is the number one tourist attraction in Doha on TripAdvisor. It was a stunning building, and the collection was superb, taking up three entire floors. We spent several hours here, and I took a lot of pictures, but I think I’ll only post a few of them right now rather than do a sub-gallery, having already done one on a similar exhibit in Copenhagen. Maybe I'll save that project for a rainy day!
An interesting article from The Telegraph about the museum and Doha in general: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/art-features/9943622/Museum-of-Islamic-Art-in-Doha-Its-about-creating-an-audience-for-art.html
