Desert island

Although we have been in Abu Dhabi for over a day, we really haven’t seen that much except for the grand mosque, which was the reason we came. But we do have some spectacular views from our 54th floor room, and this is one of them. I found it fascinating that there is an entire manmade island with one single house on it, which can only be accessed by boat.

Since we have done the mosque now, we’re going to get out and try to see a bit more of the city today, and we have actually extended our stay by one day because I really want to visit the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital (which gets rave reviews on TripAdvisor and in our guidebook).

They don't know what to do with their money anymore.
If only that 1% had a heart and a consciousness...
This is a superb shot Helen.

Fantastic view/shot from your 54th floor(Yikes, too high up for me!). Do you suppose this is a private island given there is only one house? V

It all looks very shifty - not sure I'd feel secure here !!! Neat view.

Impressive view of the island, helen. I thought it was taken on a plane as well. 54th floor; never dream of it. Great shot. V

Incredible place for living, but not for people who like to be surrounded by friends :)

Must be nice to have your own private island...I like how there is lawn around the house and the rest of the land is sand. Great shot Helen, definitely a 'room with a view' VV

A really stunning view ! But do not expect to have much privacy when you are living in a house situated just in front of a huge tower. V.

What a grand place! Great capture of this from above.

What it is to have so much money to build on your own island! Still I thought they could have had a Heli Pad!

Talk about an oasis!

Neat shot. Fascinating to see the lush green in the middle of all that sand. V

No chance of borrowing some eggs by the neighbours. So all they need to do is make a large protection roof to avoid the looks from above!

Great looking island and image of it. v
