7-30 Maui Islander, my first stay on Maui

Its just a Hotel of an ordinary tourist class, but for me this will always be
a special place. Here I stayed for the first time on Maui as a young man. I like
to return here for the reason of nostalgia. Take an upstairs room, if available!

Indeed, the official Web Page ishttp://outriggerainanalucondo.com/ I saw the Hotel renamed already during our last stay in Jan. 2007 on Maui. Somehow we have not managed to step by. Next time we will take a look how the interior presents itself now, most notable: how sound proof are the windows. Yes, it's sad but real: Last time I stayed at Maui Islander in one of the rear buildings, the rumbling noise emitting from the Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) was staggering. Looking for "paradise," finding a freeway. Maui is becoming a second Oahu. I am sure that number of visitors would support a profitable public transportation system, but the global scale thinking is not very common in the US economy.

Not Maui Islander anymore. Called the Aina Nalu condominiums. I think Outrigger still manages them however

Took my kids to Hawaii in 1995 and we stayed first at the Maui Islander! First Hawaiian experiences not to be forgotten were on this beautiful island.

One of our most favorite hotels as well. We have been staying here since 1993, stayed one year for three weeks in the four unit outlying building facing Whaler's General Store. Outrigger Hotels is managing this now, but it will always be the Maui Islander. Upstairs 1 bedroom suite is the way to go
