Wolf spiders are widespread throughout Australia and are amongst the easiest spiders to find. Of course, if you don't want to find spiders, do not read any further.
The best way to locate wolf spiders is to go out at night into a patch of open, natural ground, and keeping a torch as close to your line of sight as you can, look along the beam. Those blue-green "stars" shining on the ground are the eyes of wolf spiders looking back at you. They can be common. Do not do this if you are camping for the first time or are even vaguely arachnophobic.
