9/13/07 - Another Pond, Another Sunrise

Earlier this month when doing cattails, I mentioned that we had lots of cattails. Well, we have lots of ponds, too. I guess the two go together.
This isn't where I had planned to go this morning - but it was on the way and I got lazy. I really like the reverse grad ND filter for situations like this. In the past (before my regular grad ND's got too scratched to use) I'd have used a regular grad ND. Now that I have one of each and have had the opportunity to compare them, for this situation the reverse is better.
At this stage of sunrise I shoot about 10 shots in fairly quick succession. Getting a sunburst is "iffy" and getting one without lens flare is a challenge. This image was the first in the series where the burst appeared - and the last without lens flare. Just shoot one or two and, unless you're lucky, you've missed it.
