Monarch caterpillar on milkweed. This image is slightly larger than lifesize - a 1:1 macro lens with a 1.4x teleconverter right in the caterpillar's face. This little critter was munching away to beat the band on this milkweed leaf. It was very small; a long way to go before becoming a beautiful monarch butterfly.
