Looked out the window shortly before sunrise because it looked awfully gray - oh boy, fog! Dressed quickly and hurried out to capture the usual suspects in the fog - which had already thinned in the 15 minutes that it took me to get ready. Unfortunately, I forgot about the rain that was forecast for today - and got pretty wet when it started shortly after I got outside. Oh well, I always have plastic bags for the cameras so they stayed fairly dry.
I'd normally shoot this shot stopped down to f/11 or f/16, but wanted to try to enhance the foggy atmosphere by shooting wide open, focused about 10 feet away in an attempt to soften the distant objects. I lost more detail close up than I wanted - wish those raindrops on the pine needles were sharper.
