7/23/08 - Dahlia Bottom

Interesting color - deep red. The three foot high plant got knocked down in a storm & when I propped it back up this flower decided to open facing the side of the house. Held a piece of black paper between the flower & the siding (not pretty) with my Wimberly Plamp to make this image (18-200 lens @200 with a Canon 500 D close-up lens attached). Processed, as always, in Capture NX2 and the Nik Color Efex Pro 3 for NX2 which IMO is an unbeatable combination for Nikon RAW shooters - anything else & you're working too hard & not getting the best image possible.

Nikon D300
1/15s f/11.0 at 200.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
