Taken using the D300's Liveview feature. Used a Nikkor 105 mm macro lens at f/40, a great tripod/ballhead combination, a remote release, and the incredibly precise focusing of the D300 when using Liveview in its tripod mode. This is about as good as I can do with this type of shot.
All that I was missing was a view camera-like black cloth over my head.
