Five Island Harbor, Maine, lobster pier at dawn. Worked on the composition to block the rising sun behind the slanting boom and to frame the two distant lobster boats with the boom and tackle. I would have preferred to be higher and get separation between the near boat & the piling - needed a ladder and a taller tripod.
Converted to B&W using the Nik Software Silver Efex Pro. I added too much grain while trying to keep with the foggy morning's mood. Lots of fog & not much contrast made me try this conversion - curious about what could be done with the original low contrast image.
Great place for morning photo ops as long as you don't mind getting up real early to get there ahead of the lobster men. The scene isn't as appealing without boats in the harbor. ;-)
