The Sombrero galaxy is a lenticular galaxy located about 31 million light years from Earth, in the direction of the constellation Virgo. It has a prominent dust lane around the outer edge, and a very prominent central bulge, giving it the appearance of a sombrero when viewed from Earth. Astronomers have now determined that there is a super-massive black hole at the center of the Sombrero galaxy.
