On the picture: The entrance and the porch of the Muradiye (or: Murat II) Mosque. Built in 1424-1426, according to the building inscription above the door.
The elevated sections of the porch, on both sides of the central passage, are the ‘son cemaat yeri’ (= ‘area for those who came late’), where worshippers who reached the mosque late or at the last moment, will gather and fulfil their prayer duty.
