Gold statuette

view map

This is an extremely small pendant representing a goddess. It's made of gold and only two cm. high. Fifteenth century. I had to crop from a much bigger picture, so quality is low.

From Boğazköy, a surface find.

The goddess has extraordinarily large ears with earrings in the form of discs, and wears a sort of skull-cap on her head. She is holding a large, shallow vessel with round base in her right hand.
The pendant was worn as a protective device (amulet).
