Plaque with relief. Possibly a standard. From Alacahöyük. Hittite Empire, 14th century.
Bronze. Height: 16,3 cm. Width: 7 cm.

Rectangular plaque with inverted U-shaped projection at the top. Badly worn star motif on the projection. Below the star, a tree-of-life flanked by two bull-demons, mounted on bulls, carrying a sun-disc. Face and chest of the bull-demons depicted frontally and lower part of the torso and the legs in profile. Below the plaque, a projection for fixing the plaque on to a handle or a staff.
