With an area of 740 square kilometres, the Bali Barat National Park covers 13% of the land area of Bali; it also includes marine protected areas. Much of it is inaccessible; the remainder can be accessed only after paying a hefty entrance fee and hiring a guide. I made it into the national park on a half-day guided excursion to the Teluk Terima area along the coast. I also photographed the inaccessible highlands behind Pemuteran from a distance. Photos in this gallery alternate between the lowlands and highlands.
