Dog and vultures, the two biggest threats on the beach. Dogs dig up the nests which allows the vultures to get at the eggs. Volunteers from the village of Ostional protect the beach during arribadas (mass nestings) and in turn they get to harvest eggs from the first nights of the arrival.
