Carmel-by-the-Sea is a lovely little city in the Monterey County, also home to a lot of artists. For some people who live outside California, they heard of this town because the famous actor / director Clint Eastwood was once a mayor there.

Besides the art galleries, the boutiques, the fine restaurants and French bakeries that attract a lot of tourists going there on weekends, the unique architecture that you see everywhere would make you feel like as if you were strolling somewhere in Europe.

This town is very dog-friendly. You will see dogs as privileged residents here. Please take a look at the last photo. I saw this doggie lying comfortably in the window of a jewelry shop. Obviously the owner has spared this shelf only for him / her to see the passers by, as well as to be seen.
