This jetty stretching out from Bayview Park was never here when I was a kid. Instead there was
a small swimming enclosure. Looking back I grimace at the thought of how polluted the water must
have been at that time. Such things never earned a mention back in the 1950s. My father had gone
swimming here when HE had been a child. I think it all may been cleaner then - as indeed it is now.
