I was born on route 66 literally. My dad worked at the garage in Ludlow and my mother the cafe. We lived at the bagdad Chase mine near Ragtown as my father took a job mining with Don Love my uncle.I grew up in Barstow and know victorville and Oro Grande well .We often went to the Oro Grande park where there were army tanks airplanes and lots of fun for kids. Been all over, Argentina Peru Columbia Panama Mexico Oregon Illinois and Indiana now living in Washington state thanks for the memories. L Cord

I love your shot -- you have captured his crusty spirit, and the inclusion of the two hats make the shot a very special portrait. It speaks to the diversity of his talents and interests. (My own portrait of him athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/56190674 used the same light but told an entirely different story through a different response and emphasis.)
