La Mola is the furthest point of the island from La Savina, but it is a must for any tour of the island - to get there you see a lot of what this island is all about. This is the highest point of the island, nearly 200 metres above sea level. Stop for refreshments at El Mirador bar/restuarant for views over the whole island - but do lookout for traffic if you cross the road to take pictures.
Bob Dylan lived on La Mola, at the small town of El Pilar, during the 1960s.
La Mola's lighthouse is a reference point for visitors and for writers, such as Jules Verne, who wrote about it in his books.
