At the beginning of October I returned to the same Voga Mari apartment as my 2009 visit, but a few days later. Arriving on Formentera from Ibiza, I noticed that the Espalmador ferry, one of my favourite trips, was already finished for 2010, and the Island was generally quieter. https://pbase.com/davel/form2009 . I hope to go to Formentera a little earlier next year.

The weather during my visit was untypically disappointing, although there were some good days during the first week. Then the weather deteriorated, with thunder, lightning, gales, torrential rainstorms and floods across the Island on many days - interspersed with a few short sunny intervals. Because of the bad weather some ferries were cancelled, so Astbury's manager, Elaine, was kept busy reviewing weather, storm and port reports, then advising people who needed to return to Ibiza early to avoid getting stranded on the Island and missing flights home.
