Carnegie Museum of Natural History

This is Halite from California. It fluoresces under UV light. I set my camera on a tripod and used my new remote switch with mirror lock up to get this shot. I had tried it before but the lack of the remote = camera shake. The odd thing I noted in this shot is the purple aberrations here and there. I guess the sensor became a tad confused or something from the intense glow of the mineral.

Another odd things is how soft this looks but it's actually very sharp when you see it zoomed in! Must be the bright orange messing with my eyes....

This is very cool. I'll guess you didn't use the flourescent light balance on this. Probably would have ruined the effect! :)

No honey I have seen this exhibit and parts of this mineral do flourese violet. Great work my darling...as always
