Nous avons déjà évoqué Tanguy sans le nommer dans cette galerie. C’est lui le frère d’Eodez qui la décapita après avoir cru les mensonges proférés par sa marâtre qui accusait Eodez de mener une vie de débauche.
Les paysans accourus après son acte lui dirent à quel point Eodez avait été sage et vertueuse.
Comprenant alors sa dramatique erreur Tanguy se présenta chez son père et avoua son crime.
Eodez apparut comme par miracle , tenant sa tête dans ses mains, et elle la posa sur son cou où elle se ressouda.
Eodez se tourna vers sa marâtre et lui dit qu’elle serait punie par Dieu : Elle fut foudroyée sur place.
Eodez se tourna ensuite vers son frère et lui dit que la Sainte Vierge avait obtenu son pardon.
Eodez pardonna elle aussi à son frère et rendit l’âme en ce 18 novembre de l’an de grâce 545.
Cela ne me semble pas très moral, mais Tanguy accéda quand meme à la sainteté. …un bel exemple du droit à la rédemption…


We have already mentioned Tanguy without naming him in this gallery. He is the brother of Eodez who beheaded her after believing the lies uttered by his stepmother who accused Eodez of leading a life of debauchery.
The peasants rushed after his act told him how wise and virtuous Eodez had been.
Understanding then his dramatic error Tanguy came to his father and confessed his crime.
Eodez appeared as if by a miracle, holding her head in her hands, and she placed it on her neck, where she merged.
Eodez turned to her stepmother and told her that she would be punished by God: She was struck down on the spot.
Eodez then turned to his brother and told him that the Blessed Virgin had obtained his forgiveness.
Eodez also forgave her brother and gave up on this 18th November of the year of grace 545.
This does not seem very moral to me, but Tanguy nevertheless attained holiness. … a fine example of the right to redemption…
