Cigarette Box

Seattle, WA

This is a concrete pylon, about 3 feet tall.
There is a line of these things around the parking area
near the Seattle Space Needle. They keep cars from
driving on the grass, I suppose. Someone thought it would
be a good place to store their half-smoked cigarette, for later use.

LOL @ Doug entertaining himself! smile Thanks for the link to the whole pylon, Charlie. What an interesting object. I wouldn't have imagined its shape from this photo. Why does it have the hole? Seems like they lift it with the loop. The optical illusion really works well. ~Lydia

By "square" I meant cigarette. I think the cigarette inside the square surrounded by rectangle makes the picture. I'm so darn witty sometimes. -COAmature

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'll take another look at the original over the weekend. You are looking at about 50% of the area of the pylon. It is about 3 feet high, and the hole is about 4 inches on a side. I'm not sure if this is obvious, but the rectangular hole is cut all the way through the concrete. It therefore really is a "box," but the box is a hole within the pylon.

I agree, Doug... IF the image were square. But, the square centered in a rectangle ... I dunno... I'd try cropping it to the square being in the upper left with equal amounts of yellow on top and left. But, of course, everyone's got an opinion. That's just mine. smile ~Lydia
