Thinking Outside the Box
And now, time for something completely different! I have been told that my images are frequently outside the box, meaning, I suppose, that my approach to a subject is just a bit different than other people’s. Thinking outside the box usually involves looking at a problem from a different perspective and that is what I would like you to do for this challenge. Let go of your preconceptions, get out of your comfort zone and try something a bit different than what you are used to doing for these challenges. This does not necessarily mean photoshopping, it might mean an unusual angle or the juxtaposition of two disparate objects or using more, or less, light than you usually do or having people in your image if you don’t usually photograph people or leaving them out if you do or using a different lens than you usually do. In other words, experiment!
The one uniting feature in this challenge is the presence of a box of some sort in your image. Boxes are not generally the most exciting subjects so you will have to exercise your imagination to come up with a different take on the subject. I am looking forward to seeing the dynamic images that I know you will create.
Have fun and happy shooting! ~Sharon (elips)
