Thanks Rod, Gerry, Abs, Tom and Debi! These were shot on different days for different challenges but I used the same setup for both, directional light with black poster board in the b/g. Now that I see these together, I think I'll print them up and frame them! :-) CJ

Did you use a black backdrop or photoshop?

Beautiful. Just the other day my hubby told me I should even photograph the dead flowers as some day that may be the competition topic. Did not know he was prophetic - Debi

Nice composition Carole. I never take shots like this 'cause I can't compete with such technique. -tv

this is much better. even the flowers look "closer" now. -Abstract

Rod just said it, 'innit! -mcbit

That's lovely init, I think flowers suit this topic better than most other subjects. Well done Carole.

Thinner border - better? :-) CJ

I like this but I agree the border maybe better thinner. peteH

the first thing came to my mind...two flowers are talking :)
both are beautifully lit and cleverly composed in the pair. -Abstract
ps: i personally would use a little tinner border. strong black/white contrast is decreasing the impact of yellow/black contrast (between flower/background).
