You are all set, Hank. I don't think the recompression hurt the quality of this image at all. I am glad you decided to leave it in! ~Sharon

What I said Hank is not a political statement so keep your sensitivities in your holster. If your sense of democracy means I have to think as you do then you can bugger off mate.

Hi, Hank! I have no intention of disqualifying this, it's a great shot and you will notice that even the people who have chosen to be offended have said what a wonderful shot it is. We do tend to speak your minds but you are more than welcome here and shouldn't let the few get to you. You can use Pbase's compression function to make this smaller, or I can do it for you. The only problem with that is that it tends to degrade the quality of the shot a bit that's why we give you the opportunity to reduce it yourself first. I'd like this to stay in the gallery so just let me know if you would like me to shrink it for you! ~Sharon

Hank, this is entirely on topic and there is no need to DQ it! Those of us who have friends or relatives in the military do not find this offensive so please do not remove it. Those who don't like it, don't have to vote for it.
If you have any imaging software, you can usually improve your pictures by adjusting contrast, darken or lighten the image and sharpen it. I only have Photoshop Elements which costs less than $100 (and there is free software) that can do all these things. Here's an example:

Next time, take a light reading off the brightist part of the image and adjust your exposure the best you can but even so, there are times whan there is nothing you can do about the light.
You may want to submit this to a military oriented magazine as they might be interested. And please enter more challenges. New members really are welcome here! :-) CJ

Hi Sharon,
Go ahead and disqualify it if need be.........I don't have PS2 so maybe I'll play another time. This was my first entry at any challenge and I thought it might be an appropriate one that meets your criteria, but I see it has offended some of your members who have taken a political slant on it. Oh well............. Hank3152

Hank, this image is oversized at 275KB or 281,966 bytes. Please reduce it to 150KB or 153,600 bytes or less or I will have to send it to Pending! If you need help resizing your image there is a tutorial here:http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/image/28212120. Thanks! ~Sharon

Great shot Hank and I really like the streams of sunlight and the look of the clouds in the BG. CJ

Hank, this is a cool and hard to redo shot. Nice job in a not so nice arena. Yvonne

Yes, this F-16C was one of six on his approach to refuel over Afghanistan. I was observing the operation from the rear compartment of the KC-10 tanker next to the boom operator. I couldn't do much about the glare from the sun since our course was set.

Gawd it has death written all over it. Nice shot but:-)

wow, I'd love to get a view like this! - I feel disadvantaged here - no hot air balloon, no jet fighter... :)

WOW....where were you when you took this shot? Was it approaching for a mid-air refueling?
What a machine....
