I like the concept and composition. There are hints of orange on the penny which does go nicely with the orange. I'm thinking more of brownish background would go well with the penny's color as well.
Thanks, Jano. This was the best of quite a few shots, some with red background. I tried shading the light from different angles, to get as uniform appearance as possible: one of the pennies was (much) brigher than the other...
Orange seemed to me closer in color to the coins than red.

Ya know - I tried getting a close up of a quarter once but didn't have much luck. Now this you had no trouble with !!! My only trouble is that I'm seeing more of a burgandy/copper on orange but that may still be within the color range. Also just a couple slight markings on the background I would clone out. Love the title and image! Great job.
