Beautiful harmony of color tones. Now the petals really stand out in front of the smooth background. -Gerald

Thank you all for you comments. Rod, I did not do anything special. Used magic wand for background selection, tried various tolerances and then applied lens blur instead of gassuian blur. I had to try a few times to get the correct edges and effect I was looking for. If you are getting blurred edges, my guess is that you will have to reduce the feathering to a minimum. -- Cat

Now, if I had a pink room to hang this in, I would definitely do so!!! jano

How did you blur the background without affecting the flower? Whenever I've used the magic wand to do something like this it blurs a the edge of the flower. Looks very good now Cats.

Thanks etischer for your comments and suggestion.
I have blurred the background. -Cat

The color match is spot on, looks great! you might beable to use the magic wand tool and dial in the tolerance if you wanted to isolate the background. - etischer

Thanks Rod, I wish I could keep the background further away ... not enough room to play with behind the flowers though. I'll try and see if I can rehoot this tomorrow. But given the hot weather here in Atlanta, the flowers wilt in a day or so and this was shot few days back. Alternately I might blur the background, only if I knew how to isolate the background.... -Cat

Is there a way you could get this shot with the background further away? As I find the flowers being blending in the background. A lot more OOF background may help. I like the composition, it works really well.
