Beautiful image, RK. Only thing I would like to see is a continuous neck line, and maybe a darker background. Great sharpness and saturation.

i would have titled it "the pride"...beautiful colors and focus. -Abstract

Thanks Pedro and Alex.
Alex: did not increase the background blur in PS. Used the curves and a bit of USM.

Beautiful bird. Have you increased the background blur in PS?

Excellent, RK. Nice colors, and nice bokeh.

Thanks Aam, Shu, Rod and Ioana for the comments.
Aam, I really like taking upclose pictures of birds, bugs, insects, etc, I was couple of feet away from this beauty and was a little (a lot) worried that he is going to charge me.
Shu, agree with you, a crop on left will improve the picture...I think.
Rod, have couple of other shots from this session with darker background, but really like this one...
Aam, I have not re-posted this entry.

I think the bright green background is just right..it brings out the greens in the feathers.

Beautiful composition, I love colors and the L shape of the peacock. And that smug look on his face...

Did you increase the saturation RK? It looks much better than before (or is it my imagination?)
Rod 10-Jun-2005 09:50
I think the main problem here is the very bright background overwhelms the bird. Normally it's the Peacock that does the overwhelming............................. Hang on! I wonder if this was RKs twist on a Peacock shot..........nah, can't be:-)
aam1234 10-Jun-2005 03:59
Hmm, maybe not from the left, could be from the right since the bird is not looking straight (to the right).
aam1234 10-Jun-2005 03:57
Agree with Shu. A little crop from the left would make the bird more prominent in the photo.

His pose adds to the artistic nature of the shot. Maybe a slight crop on the left? It would tighten up the image IMO.( I usually overcrop and often get criticized for it!) Shu

I gather you like birds, I like them too (and fish also).

Nice colors and clean background.
