Mother of all beats *

Atlanta

I enjoy doing "concept" photos among other things. I am not sure that can be considered a style, but anyway...

This one tries to capture the "concept" of the first music or rhythm
which the human kind would have understood, which set them apart from other fauna.

"Ever thought where, when and how human started understanding and enjoying rhythm and music?
When we listened to our own hearts!! This is THE primordial beat. Mother of all beats."

Cat, if you wish, drop me an email and I'll tell you a bit more about Alamy.http://www.alamy.com

Thanks Nugar,
Your advice helps. I was looking into registration and all. You clarified the copyright thingy for me. You are right about the "you never know" part. I am not familiar with Alamy, but I will explore. About the details on the heart: It is very glossy all over, so there is no details as such. I had a tough time avoiding my own reflection in there, hence the deep angles of the light. Thanks. -Cat

Hi Cat,

Once you press the shutter, you own copyright even if it is not registered, although registration confers you extra benefits, like charging for legal costs if you sue :o) (up to 150k, I think).

I really like this concept image, although a little more detail on the heart would be welcome. You should consider submitting images to Alamy for stock... you never know...

Thanks Alexeig and RK.
Alexei, you nailed the reason the heart is there...
RK, Do I have to do anything special for copyright. I thought all pictures here are copyrighted materials of their owners. Is it not the case? -Cat

Very nice, Cat. Really like the title. You should copyright it.

Great idea. For a while I thought that you could omit the heart without losing the story but then I decided that without the heart it would be a bit too medical and sterile

This is a marvelous image! I love the concept! It's great to see the amazing versatility of our photographers and the theme of this challange is doing just that! Shu

Thank you both of you. Ioana, you are right, it is pink paper. I will try to see if I can reduce the pink on the paper, if only I can figure out how to do it. I am not as good in PS as some folks here. IF I can't I think I'll be OK with the pinkish shade of the paper. -Cat

Well done Cat a good concept mate.

Cat, very interesting concept and beautiful execution. Could you make the EKG paper a little less pink (I realize it likely is pink paper, but PS can do wonders) - a more neutral color would emphasize the red in the heart (I think...)
