Bull's Eye *

Getting the desired DOF was the main challenge for me on the shot.
indoor (poor light) + no studio equip + Shallow DOF + S1 = Lots of takes

other sizes: small medium original auto

Much better! Easier to stay focused on the fingertips/dart tip. ~ Lonnit

Thank you Ioana. "nfl space missile" :)
you know, earlier i thought of naming this shot as "Patriot or Scud" but then to avoid any political statement, i chose the bulls-eye as a title. -Abstract

The DOF is just perfect on this one - focused enough to see what it is, yet blurry enough to make it look really far away - like the NFL space missile is about to hit its target across a couple of oceans. Nice shot!

Thanks Rod for the comment. -Abstract
i know, these are just some cheapo darts came with the board...once i know what weight/type of the darts i am most comfortable with i am gonna buy some decent ones.

The shot works really well Abs, I prefer frushes fevvers on me darts plus they photograph better than a folded beer coaster:-) The overall look of the shot is spot on mate.

okay...cropped done. desaturated the "nfl" part to reduce impact. what do you say now, Lonnit?
i better get to bed now, if i dont want to sleep on the sofa. thanks for your suggestions. -Abstract

Well done! If I wanted to really nit-pick, I'd say that the left hand door should have been cropped at its edge like the right, but again that just a nit-pick and you won't lose points for it. Just as a matter of general comment, I do want to say that the initials on the dart are distracting, in that they are so prominent (large & red) that they seem to become a secondary subject, taking attention away from the real subject here. The subject isn't what's on the dart, the subject is the dart placement and the anticipation of making that bullseye. ~ Lonnit

Good shot, Abs. You've managed to give it a three-dimensional effect.
