For the Children (*)

Texas

This statue sits in a park just around the corner from my house. The park came to be after a child died in a carwreck and this property was up for sale. As a tribute to the little girl, people sent money in to buy the land and create a bright memorial park in honor of all the children of our neighborhood who have died. It is just a wonderful sight during the day with beautiful flowers and statues and at night this one just jumps out at you, as the park is triangular and this corner sits where the street forks. The walkway is lined with bricks each has a lost child's name etched in it. As you walk along and read the names you definitely count your blessings.

Great take, Melissa, and a bit sinister lighting

Well done Melissa, just goes to show we can never say never. I couldn't foresee any shot that didn't show the surroundings being on topic. You just got away with it on you wind mill thingy:-) But the excellent commentary makes this shot totally on topic. Fantastic work Melissa even a bloke would be proud of this shot & commentary:-)
