If you can win with a puny G2 then I guess there's no 20D in your future! WTG Rod! I do hope M. lets you get the new toy!

This shot makes me want to go find a nice log or rock to sit on and watch the rest of the sunset. Beautiful...

Real nice. I love the sun reflection on the wood and the perspective

A fine photo indeed Rod.

Very Stanley Kubrick with the composition. I can't add much that hasn't been said already, so I'll just say thanks...this photo brings back memories.

Awesome comp., and lovely colours. The bird in the upper lefthand corner of the frame and the 2 figures really make this shot. Nicely done Rod!

Really tried to find something negative about this picture to balance all the positive comments here, but I'm afraid I failed :) Also, it reminds me a lot of a scene in the movie 'Dark City' (which is one of my favourite movies), so I'm afraid I'll have to give it a big thumbs up too... =)

Great shot! About as close to the theme as you can get! Only problem I see with the photo is horizon look slightly tilted to the left... but does pull you to the bird, what a catch! - Tom

wow Rod. i knew, you are dangerous in your chair with a keyboard but this kind of images prove you are still formidable out of the chair with your camera. -Abstract

Rod, this is a truely magnificent photo! Great colours, balanced composition.
If your wife won't let you buy a 20D cause your G2 photos are so good, you could meet her half way and buy the next best... The Pro1 :-)
P.S. - Erh... Are'nt those people at the end of the pier in silhouette? ;-)
Nugar06-Feb-2005 12:17
Dear Mrs Rod,

As you can see, Rod is quite capable to taking great shots with his G2. I don't think he needs a 20D. I would know. I bought one and now I'm taking even worst pictures, so if you let him buy the 20D, he will be more grumpy at all hours of the day and won't leave you alone showing you bad photo upon bad photo while trying to grasp why he can't.

Very Best Regards,

Nugar

Shirley "late day glow" this was shot at 6 in the morning:-( I bet you're proud of me now:-)
Canon DSLR Challenge06-Feb-2005 05:52
Lovely shot, Rod. The image has beautiful color. I usually don't like shots like these since they are so b---ooring whenever I've taken them, but the late-day glow has made this image magical. Shu

Awesome shot Rod. It's really getting harder to add comments(suggestions) to photos entered, I mean so many are perfect. My fave of the three you posted.

If this photograph doesn’t justify a 20D purchase with your Mrs., I don’t know what would. ; ) Really nice Rod! Brian
