Many thanks, Markjay, for commenting on my image. At the time I shot it, I did notof coursethink about comfort zones, but was just fascinated by the light differences between the three levels (street, restaurant, façade); maybe I wanted *too* much in one picture?? (Shooting from street level, BTW, would have been impossible, IMHO: in front of the motorcycles there is no room for photographers but just water ... this is a fishermen's seaport, and I was taking the picture from a dyke.) db.
Hey db, I like what you were trying to do here with this scene. Since you asked (*) I'd have to say that one way that would dramatically improve the imapact of this image (and the goal of conveying a personal touch) would be to have photographed this from the street level. Maybe even zoom in on one group of people or couple? I realize you may not have had time to do that, on that particular day. Markjay
