Sounds Of Silence (*)

Canada

Hullo darkeness my old friend....
Yes my friends, I do not hear too well without these puke coloured little gadgets in and behind my ears. I do not even hear very well with them. They follow me everywhere, and are part of my life. My hearing loss is now in the 'severe to profound' range, depending on the tones, and promises to be completely profound at some point down the road. Hearing loss has altered my life completely. It has it's up and downs, though I prefer to focus on the ups... when my teenage kids are cranking their music, I simply switch off. If these same sweet kids are jabbering at me about nothing, I smile sweetly, and switch off. And oh boy... do I ever have fun with those nasty telephone solicitors! A silent world has taught me to really SEE what is around me, and for this I am thankful. There is so much in this world to see that I would otherwise have missed.

That is a really cool picture. I think it is amazing how we have devices like these that allow us to hear when our ears don't work properly. I really like the fact that they aren't bulky. They also range in a number of sizes which is nice because you can choose the style you need.http://www.experthearing.com.au/hearing-aid-model-sizes/

Good image! Great placement of light and I like the double look. Mind telling us how you achieved this photo? I tried taking a picture of a hearing aids myself but it isn't as sharp as yours. Enjoyed looking at your other photos too. :-) Julie Ann

Very moving words.... We should all have such a positive attitude about the various "ills" that befall us. Your sense of humor and sensitivity are reflected in your photos as well as in your life. Thank you for sharing with us.

Peace--

Gday mate
The combination of image & words makes this very powerful for me. It's not easy to get a good shot of a puke coloured object but you made this one really work. Regards Rod
