Hope *

My backyard

The flowers in my garden provide consolation and hope, and I think few blooms present a more hopeful face than the morning glory. I've been waiting all summer for the blossoms to appear on this vine, and now that it is autumn, the first one finally opened this morning. In a way, this plant can represent me...in the autumn of my life...but still opening to the world around me. Each morning gives me something to look forward to. I'm eagerly anticipating seeing all those buds in full bloom, just as I'm curious about what else life holds.

Garrett, Tracy, and Jude...thank you for your kind comments. I was having some trouble focusing this in the mixed morning light and took only one shot because I was still in nightclothes. I knew it was a "keeper" as soon as I brought it up on the computer.

I like the way the forefront plant seems to have arms lifted up to the sky.. as if rejoicing.. nice with this theme..

This is excellent. The composition and focus make the message of hope obvious, but what raises this photo above the ordinary is the lighting. The morning light creates a dramatic contrast and suggests the hope of a new day. --Garrett
