I like the high key look of this Kurt- well done. One thing that pulls my attention away from the subject is the dark bit interacting with the frame on the upper right- but that's probably just me :-)

Lovely macro Kurt! The colors really stand out nicely against the white background of the petals and the DOF keeps the eye on the tip of the stem. CJ

I prefer the color too, but maybe that's a girl thing. Penny Street

Rod
The noise thingy & the high key made me think of B&W for this picy Kurt. I did one & quite like it, it's in pending.

Thank you for the info Angioman.

Rod, I think what you are noticing is noise introduced by a blown exposure. This shot overexposed (known problem with the canon 40D and Macro twin) but I liked the high key look. Noise introduced when I tried to recovery some blown highlights. Crop is minimal (about 10%, not sure how to measure in Aperture).

Christakis - this image is the only one of the three I used flash fill - macro twin lamp set at manual, reduced to 1/4 power, and slaved a 530 with diffuser from below flower at 1/8 (I think??). Other shots were under diffused natural light. - angioman

Is this a large crop Kurt as it doesn't have that clear soft look, it has like a sort of over sharpen look. This one would work the best for me as the other two are a bit eye candy a.

Angioman I really like all three of your pictures. They all have nice rich colours. May I ask your flash setup (if you have one) for these shots.
