The "Wind-Comb" is a big iron sculpture
by the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002),
dedicated to his hometown San Sebastián.

The different parts are "grounded"
on rocks of the shore-line.

Glad you like it, Melbob. There are films--and probably also videos on the net--showing how Chillida worked with iron and steel to create his art-ifacts (some of them weighing up to more than eighty tons!). Thanks a lot for commenting. -- db.

I think we agree actually, Daniel. We both think that the ocean needs no adornment, but the art needs a backdrop. smile It's pretty artwork, in any case. ~Lydia

You could see this the other way 'round as well, Lydia: Chillida might have chosen with care this landscape to enhance his art... ;-) I, for myself, do like the "Wind-Comb" a lot and come back to enjoy it again and again. Thanks, anyway, for your compliment as far as the photograph goes! -- db.

It's very interesting that man feels the need to add 'art' to what is already so beautiful. It detracts from the scene to me... but you've photographed it well, Daniel... and that's what this is about here. Sorry for my ramble. ~Lydia
