Incredible textures and colours Tom... I think I can see where you 'did a little bit of altering'... ;-) ! Terrific composition.

I can certainly relate to your need for a 'goodly amount of RAM' This work really sorts the PC out! Love the vibrant colours. ~ Regards Melbob

Thanks. I don't make the Dali connection with this one. Maybe I need to see more of his work.

The effect was achieved with the Liquify filter, a lot of layering, and a lot of time...and a good amount of RAM (I have 1 gigabyte allocated but wish I had more).

I liked the "a little bit" of altering! :-) :-)

I am not sure I would know where to start to get a flower to look like that, to be honest. The lava-like effect is powerful though and thus also the connection to the book.
