Cat, I would call this super-nova. Like the lighting, sharp and great patterns.

Thank you all,
Kelly, I have filled in the lens part for you.
Kelly and Paul: The lighting is done using the a 60W tungsten light bulb in a table lamp directly behind the center portion of the rock. The lamp is just 2" behind and is hidden by the rock. The rock disk/slice is 1/8" thick, thus appears translucent.
Andy, the crop is just to make you curious ;-) LOL .... No, not really. The fact is the bottom portion of this disk is broken and scratched, also thats where I am holding the disk. So I had to crop the bottom portion. To compensate for that in the compo I cropped the other 2 sides and left one uncropped, just to make it off center.
Hope I have answered your questions. -Cat

Stunning colours cat. The crystal really shows in the central portion. Im curious as to why you chose to crop like this. Its curious because one edge is barely clipped, two are cut and one untouched.
