Shed

This is a naturally occurring shedded snakeskin that I've had around for
the last 10-15 years (I'm amazed that it hadn't turned to dust. I'd always
intended to incorporate it into a handmade paper bowl or something, but
never did; enhanced with an organic edges filter so that it wouldn't look
like bubblewrap anymore ;-)

Looks very skeletal, even though it's actually the opposite of skeletal! -Ed Hahn

this is a great pattern and fits the topic very well... but it gives me the heebie jeebies knowing it's a snake skin. LOL

Thanks for your comments Cindy. I keep liking the idea of making it work on its own, but haven't succeeded to this point. I should have some more shooting time between now and close of entries, so I'll give it a go. Again, thanks. --Nancy

I see what you mean about the bubble wrap . . .still I think I prefer it - with a little work of course. But strictly a matter of personal taste - no real reason for that. Cindy

Here's a link to a cropped portion of the original-- focus is on the ridges, which I liked, but the other part really is like bubble wrap. It's so neat to see and to hold, but it just didn't translate photographically, as I'd wanted.

Very cool! Wouldn't mind seeing it without the 'organic edges' just so I can understand what you are talking about with bubble wrap. Cindy
