Stunts at Sunset (*)

Tucson, Az

Sometimes you spend weeks looking for a good photo opportunity.
Sometimes you spot one out of the corner of your eye as you drive past.

This was taken just up the road from the hotel I'm staying in,
in fact the parking lot is visible from my window as I type this.
4 bikers were practising stunts, and they really knew what they were doing.
This guy has a skid plate welded next to his brake light and he could wheelie onto it,
and then get the bike back onto 2 wheels without stopping or falling off, impressive.
He is doing about 2-3mph in this photo, in a slow circle.

Every photo I took worked out well, apart from 3, one which would have been the best,
but it ended up completely out of focus and exposure. Isn't that always the way?

V4, a little cropped off the bottom. Although I feel the rear wheel is now too near the edge. I'm reluctant to do a V5 though. -- Richard

Great silhouette. I agree a little off the bottom wouldn't hurt it any. Although this is fine too. Cindy

Love Bikes, Love this Pic

Too much dark stuff at the bottom ? Maybe a crop removing bottom 1/3rd would make it better ?

Actually I've changed my mind. The lightening lost the imact of the original, so this third version is darker and more silhouetted. - Richard

I've replaced the image with one with no sharpening. I'm having to do all my photoshopping on a tiny laptop screen which makes things tricky. Hopefully this version is better. I've adjusted the levels slightly to bring out a few more details in the bike too. -- Richard

Nice color and silouette. Although on my monitor it looks a tad oversharpened

I really like the silhouette of the wheel and the rider. --Melanie (mlynn)
