Couldn't decide if I liked the color or the texture of the mud wall more. Hence this B&W version that highlights the texture

Expanding on my comments for the color image: Have you considered taking the B&W and giving it a sepia-tone treatment of some sorts? That'll keep the monochromatic look, but perhaps provide some of the warmth of the color image.
