they let their wings down" - Sappho

I like the image the way it is... very unusual yet it somehow seems right. -Byron

Roberta,
Unless the image has been changed, I think the wings do follow the rules of perspective quite well. Try analyzing in Photoshop using the ruler tool. -- Victor

The more I look at this image, and the more i consider the topic, I think this would have worked without the wings. I really love the composition, and the way subject is highlighted draws me into the woods in the direction that she is headed. She seems to be fleeing the road for the safety and shelter of the wood......This tales a great story in my minds eye, OUTSTANDING!

Sarah, I notice that this lovely image exceeds the allowable 153600 bytes a little bit - will you please re-upload a slightly smaller version? --Olaf (helper appointed by the host)

Sarah,
I really like the concept, the angel and the s curve in the road. My only suggestion would be to change the size of the wing in the distance to better follow the rules of perspective. Everything else looks great. Fine image. Roberta

Ms D (Sarah or Cindy), strong imagery here! I admire the creativity that went into this and sit back wondering how you did it. Is this a photoshop montage of three photos, a wing, yourself and the setting? No matter how you achieved it, it is well done! Looking at the image more critically (*), I notice there is a spot of light on the angel and I believe this is done intentionally. This could be interpreted as the light of God, still shining on her, which is a very valid raison d'être. However, I don't think that works so well here, as the angel and the wings are both white. Because of the spotlight on the road, the tonal separation between the road and the angel+wings is too narrow and they all kind of blend into one diffuse spot of light. It may have been what you were after, but I think that it would have been visually stronger with more contrast between the angel and its surroundings. --Olaf
