This screams amateur at me - not the photographer, but the guy depicted! Reminds me of when they were building right across the street from where I live. It was a Sunday and there were two "Jack-of-all-trades" working on one brick pillar about 7 feet tall. These guys took all day. Whenever they needed half a brick, they would do like this guy - took forever, loud as heck and was very dusty. The following day, an obviously experienced mason did an identical pillar, by himself, in just half a day (that would be four times as fast). When he needed half a brick, he would just hold the brick in one hand while hammering on the middle with the other - one second, no dust and hardly any noise! As I am sitting here, looking out my window, which pillar was done by non-professionals is still very obvious... --Olaf
