Orchard Orioles in Vermont

These photos were taken on June 1,2009. There was much excitement in our area, as these birds a uncommon in mid-Vermont. These two birds were carrying nesting material and later (not pictured), food, so it appears they were at least attempting to raise a family. No one knows if they succeeded. The male was an immature Orchard Oriole. This year (2010), a female has again been spotted in the same area. We are all hoping for those grand-children!
